As Lafayette, Louisiana struggled to maintain its identity as home to a historic Cajun-Creole community, the city looked to create a low cost high profile design that showcased and activated the local Francophone vernacular. Imploring the implementation of equitable wayfinding, Route Lafayette takes advantage of best practices to create an experiential citywide system that considers visual impairments, local language, and theories of city imaging, all while remaining easy to understand by all.
